Inmate Visitations Canceled at HCCC Main Facility This Weekend Due to Active COVID Cases

Inmate visitations have been canceled at Hawaiʻi Community Correctional Center’s main facility this weekend, May 7-8, due to the number of active COVID-19 cases throughout the housing units, officials announced this morning.
As of May 3, 513 prisoners tested positive for the virus, according to the Department of Public Safety website. As a result of the active cases, various housing units have been placed on quarantine and isolation status.
According to DPS, there will be inmate visitation this weekend at the Hale Nani housing unit location near Panaʻewa.
