Kaua‘i Wins Big at Merrie Monarch Festival

Kaua‘i was the big winner at this year’s Merrie Monarch Festival.
Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina’ala became the first Kaua‘i halau to take home the title of overall festival winner in the event’s six-decade history. The halau also clinched the best wahine overall award.

The winning halau is celebrating its 10th year of participating at the festival. In addition to the overall festival awards, the judges recognized the group with first place in the wahine ‘auana and kahiko categories.
