Update 3: Police reported at 4:49 p.m. that Makala Boulevard and Loloku Street in Kailua-Kona are now open to traffic.

Update 2: Police reported at 4:08 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, that Makala Boulevard and Loloku Street are again closed after a brush fire in the area re-ignited. Motorists are again asked to use alternate routes.

Update: Hawaiʻi police report Makala Boulevard and Loloku Street have reopened after firefighters responded to a brush fire in the area.
