Police reported at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday that Highway 11, which was closed earlier due to a vehicle collision in Ka’u near the 28 mile marker, near the entrance to Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, is now reopened.

The Hawai‘i Police Department reports Tuesday morning that Highway 11 is closed in both directions in Ka’ū near the 28 mile marker, near the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, due to a vehicle collision.
Highway 11 will remain closed until police complete their investigation.
