Portion of Highway 180 in Holualoa Reopen After Being Closed Because of Fallen Tree, Powerlines

UPDATE: Hawai’i County Civil Defense reported at 3:45 p.m. Monday, April 18, that the Hawai’i Police Department said Highway 180, which was closed earlier near Bishop Road because of a fallen tree and powerlines, is now reopen. Civil Defense thanked the public for its patience.

Highway 180 in Holualoa, 1/2 mile south of Bishop Road, is closed due to utility line on the roadway, the police department stated at 12:15 p.m. Monday, April 18.

HPD reports a fallen tree damaging powerlines. This section of roadway will remain closed until tree is removed and powerlines are repaired.

Motorists, expect delays in the area and use alternate routes until roadway is reopened.

The department advised motorists to use alternate routes.
