The county Department of Water Supply said in a news release that a water shutoff is planned from 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 20-21, for areas along Kīlauea Avenue, from Olonā to Kamana streets, in order for crews to replace a main valve. The affected areas also will include along Lanikāula Street, from ‘Iolani to Kino‘ole streets, and any side roads in the area.

Upon resumption of water service, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned, during which time customers in the affected areas might notice turbid and/or discolored water. Customers might also notice trapped air in their plumbing, which will be released as they initially use water.

DWS asks affected customers to take precautions to protect their property and facilities including, but not limited to, disabling electrical power to pumps and/or any other devices that normally depend on water pressure or supply and might be harmed if automatically energized during the shut-off period.
