Online Event Tailored to Small Businesses Interested in Becoming Airport Rental Car Suppliers

Small businesses interested in offering rental cars at two airports on the Big Island are encouraged to attend an upcoming online event.

The state Department of Transportation Airports Division, along with the DOT Office of Civil Rights, is hosting an online Airport Rental Car Supplier Diversity Outreach event and webinar from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, April 26. Small businesses will get information about contracting opportunities with car rental companies located at airports throughout the state, including Hilo International Airport and Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport.

Representatives from the Big Island will be available to answer questions about providing goods and services to car rental agencies, various contracting opportunities, the airport concessions disadvantaged business enterprise certification process, additional supplier diversity certifications and other benefits.

Small businesses do not have to be a certified disadvantaged business to attend.
