Makahiki Moala

Big Island police are asking for the public’s help with finding a missing teen.

The Hawai‘i Police Department reported in a media release that 17-year-old Makahiki Moala was reported as a runaway. Moala was last seen at about 11:40 a.m. Thursday, April 7, in the 1100 block of Waianuenue Avenue in Hilo.

He is described as Hawaiian, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with a slender build, a brown mohawk haircut and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, jeans and gray contractor style boots.

Police ask anyone with information about Moala’s whereabouts to call the department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311. Those who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300.
