Weekly COVID Update: 107 New Cases Identified on Big Island

The state Department of Health reported 1,194 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, April 6, bringing the statewide total to 241,972. Three new fatalities were reported.

A total of 107 new infections were identified Wednesday on the Big Island. A map documenting new cases by district throughout all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 167,503
Hawaiʻi: 26,341
Maui: 28,468
Kaua‘i: 11,906
Moloka‘i: 950
Lana‘i: 629
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 6,175

Of those total cases, 8,522 required hospitalization with 16 currently hospitalized. At least 1,382 have died since the pandemic began. Hospitalization data is updated Monday through Friday, except on state and federal holidays.
