The state Department of Transportation issued its weekly lane closures for April 2-8. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) HŌNAUNAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 104 and 106, Tobacco Road and Middle Ke‘ei Road, on Saturday, April 2 through Monday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and mowing.

1) MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 21 and 23, Volcano Road and Omeka Road, on Saturday, April 2 through Monday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.

2) HŌNAUNAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 85 and 86, Old Māmalahoa Highway and ‘Ohana Road, on Saturday, April 2 through Monday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

3) KONA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 105 and 106, Hawaii Belt Road and Māmalahoa Highway, on Saturday, April 2 through Monday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.

— VOLCANO ROAD (ROUTE 11) —

1) VOLCANO

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 27 and 38, Haunani Road and Hawaii Belt Road, on Wednesday, April 6 through Thursday, April 7, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for installation of signs within Volcano National Park.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) HILO

Right lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) in the northbound direction near mile marker 2.5, Shipman Street and Wailuku Drive, on Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for Wailuku Stream Bridge repair work.

2) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, April 2 through Friday, April 8, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

3) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph. 

4) PĀPA‘ALOA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 23 and 25, Hawai‘i Belt Road and Pu‘ualaea Homestead Road, on Saturday, April 2 through Monday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

5) LAUPAHOEHOE (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 24 and 26, Papa‘a Loa Road and Hawai‘i Belt Road, on Saturday, April 2 through Monday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

6) PA‘AUILO

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 32 and 38, Ke Ehia Place and Kalopa Road, on Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for removal of trees adjacent to power lines.

— QUEEN KA‘AHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19) —

1) KONA (WEEKEND CLOSURE)

Two lane closure on Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway (Route 19) in both directions near mile marker 74.6, Waikōloa Beach Drive intersection, on Sunday, April 3, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., for the Lavaman Triathlon. Intermittent lane closures at the Route 19/Waikoloa Beach Drive intersection.

— PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Hawaii Belt Road and Keaau-Pahoa Road, on Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for installation of new traffic signal indicators.

2) PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) KAMUELA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3 and 4, near Saddle Road, on Saturday, April 2 through Monday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

2) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.

— ‘AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

1) HAWI (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on ‘Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) in both directions between mile markers 9 and 14, Kaiholena Place and Kapa‘a Park Road, on Saturday, April 2 through Monday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for landscaping and shoulder work.
