Brush Fire Contained, Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway Reopened

Update:
The Hawai‘i Police Department reports the brush fire that occurred in South Kohala, Makai of Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway near the 68 mile marker burned approximately 2 acres but is now fully contained and that Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway and Mauna Kea Beach Drive are reopened at this time.

The Hawai‘i Police Department reported on Saturday evening that a brush fire in South Kohala, Makai side of Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway near the 68 mile marker.
At this time, the southbound lane of Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway near the 68 mile marker and Mauna Kea Beach Drive are closed.
