Missing Big Island Child Found in Good Health

UPDATE: 11-year-old Kelani Kamakahi has been located in good health in Hilo, according to a message from the Hawai’i Police Department shortly before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31. HPD thanks the public for their assistance.

The Hawai‘i Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance with locating a missing Big Island child.

According to an alert from the police department, 11-year-old Kelani Kamakahi was last seen at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, March 31, on Maemae Street in Hilo, wearing a gray Hilo Union School T-shirt.

She is described as part Hawaiian, 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 105 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion.

Anyone with information that can assist in helping safely locate Kamakahi is urged to call 911 or contact the police department at 808-935-3311.
