No Serious Injuries Reported After Car Collides With Keauhou Store

No serious injuries were reported after an usual single-car accident Thursday that took out the front window of a Keauhou store.

According to the Hawai‘i Police Department, around 2:43 p.m. that day, a vehicle operated by an adult female struck pillars fronting Jams World in the Keauhou Shopping Center and then crashed into one of the business’s windows.

The female driver was transported to the Kona Community Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and no other injuries were reported.

An employee of the store who wasn’t inside the business at the time but spoke to employees there said that the driver told employees immediately after the accident that her slipper became entangled with the gas pedal, preventing her from removing her foot from it.
