Search Warrant on Hilo Home Yields Methamphetamine Recovery, 1 Arrest

Execution of a search warrant on a Hilo residence today yielded the recovery of methamphetamine and one arrest.

Fifty-seven-year-old Gilbert Jimenez was arrested after Hawai‘i Police Department’s Area I Vice Section executed a narcotic search warrant at a residence on Osorio Lane. Jimenez was charged with five counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and a single count each of second-degree attempted promotion of a dangerous drug, prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia, and ownership or possession of ammunition prohibited.

Second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and ownership or possession of ammunition prohibited are both class B felony offenses that carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. Jimenez has two prior felony convictions.

Jimenez will appear in Hilo District Court on Friday afternoon. He remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail.
