Closures Planned for Helicopter Operations at Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park

Several areas at Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park will be temporarily closed to accommodate for helicopter operations. All closures are scheduled for 6-11 a.m. on the days operations will be conducted.
Upcoming closures include:
- March 18 and 25 and April 1, 22 and 28: Temporary closures will include Hale Ho’okipa Visitor Contact Station and the parking lot and main trail from Hale Ho’okipa to the Honokōhau shoreline.
- April 19: Temporary closures will include Kaloko Road, Kaloko parking lot and Kaloko picnic area.
The reason for the closures is to provide public safety during the removal of invasive, non-native vegetation using a helicopter.
