No Tsunami Threat Issued for Hawaiʻi After Large Quake Hits Off Coast of Northern Japan

There is no tsunami threat to Hawaiʻi after a magnitude 7.3 earthquake hit near the east coast of Honshu, Japan, early this morning, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported.

The temblor struck off the coast of northern Japan around 4:35 a.m. Hawaiʻi time. According to the Associated Press, a tsunami advisory has been issued for parts of Japan.
