HPD Seeks Public Help Finding Runaway Teen

Authorities are seeking the public’s help locating a Hilo teen who was reported as a runaway.
Sixteen-year-old Kelis Garmon-Mercado was last seen at her home on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, and is believed to have left the residence in the late evening. She was last seen wearing a red-colored hoodie, gray-colored shorts, and boots.
Kelis is described as local, 5 feet 6 inches, 320 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.
Hawai‘i police ask anyone with information on the teen’s whereabouts to call the department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311 or contact Officer Lisa Ebesugawa at [email protected].
