Hawai‘i County Civil Defense reports that a roadway in Kona is partially closed because of a brush fire.

According to Civil Defense’s road closure message at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 13, Hawai‘i Police Department says Hina Lani Street in Kona near Kamanu Street is closed to one lane of traffic because of the fire.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area while fire crews extinguish the fire. This will be the only message regarding this fire unless further closures are required.

“Thank you for your patience and please drive with care,” Civil Defense said in the message.
