A park on Saddle Road will be closed one day this weekend.

The county Department of Parks and Recreation announced in a news release that Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area will be closed from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 12, because of a scheduled power outage.

Hawaiian Electric will be doing emergency pole replacement work in the vicinity of park and requires the de-energizing of the substation feeding the recreation area. The public restrooms and amenities at the park will not be available during this time.

“The Department of Parks and Recreation would like to thank the community for their understanding as we work to improve the conditions at this park,” said the news release.

For more information, call Hawaiian Electric dispatch office at 808-969-666.
