After a two-year pandemic pause, Hawai‘i Island Humane Society is bringing back a popular fundraising event.

The Tropical Paws benefit gala returns March 25 to raise much needed funds for shelter animals at HIHS. The gala will be hosted at the Four Seasons Resort Hualālai, with the husband-and-wife team of Guy Hagi and Kim Gennaula once again serving as the evening’s emcees.

“With a two year hiatus, now more than ever, much needed proceeds from Tropical Paws will greatly help us offset shelter operation costs at our two life-saving locations in Kea‘au and Kona on Hawai’i Island,” said Hawai‘i Island Humane Society Board President Adam Atwood in a press release. “We are excited to return to the Four Seasons Resort Hualālai to see everyone again, enjoy great food and libations for a worthy cause.”

Tickets are now on sale and cost $235 per person or $3,000 for a reserved table of eight. Tickets can be purchased online. Sponsor packages are also available and detailed on the website.

And if you plan to go, don’t wait to get your tickets.

“Tickets always sell out fast at Tropical Paws,” said Atwood in the press release.

Enjoy meeting some of the humane society’s furry friends in need of loving, forever homes. Savor a gourmet dinner and sip on craft cocktails. Raise your paddle during the live auction and support the Hawai‘i Island Humane Society in its mission to prevent cruelty to animals, eliminate pet overpopulation and enhance the bond between humans and animals.

Tropical Paws gets underway at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and continues with a gourmet dinner and silent and live auctions.

“There’s literally something for everyone,” says the press release.

Shelter animals will also be on hand to win over the hearts of guests, along with a photo station to capture the night with a keepsake picture.
