A contracted helicopter operation at Pu‘uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park in West Hawai‘i will require part of the park to be closed one day this week.
According to a press release from the park, Volcano Helicopters will be sling loading fencing materials to the park’s boundary from about 6-11 a.m. Thursday, March 3.
This will require partial, temporary park closures during the same time frame to safely carry out these operations.
Closed areas will include the Picnic Area, 1871 Trail to the southern park boundary and the Coastal Trail.
The park Visitor Center, Royal Grounds and Pu‘uhonua will remain open.
