Weekly Road Closures: Feb. 26-March 4

The state Department of Transportation announced its weekly road and lane closures for Feb. 26 through March 4. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) KEAUHOU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 117 and 119, Walua Road and Hawaii Belt Road, on Saturday, Feb. 26 through Monday, Feb. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching, tree trimming and mowing.

2) KEAUHOU

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 118 and 119, Kuakini Highway and Hawaii Belt Road, on Tuesday, March 1 through Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and mowing.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 19 and 21, 1st Road and Omeka Road, on Saturday, Feb. 26 through Monday, Feb. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching, tree trimming and mowing work.

2) HŌNAUNAU

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 87 and 88, ‘Ohana Road and Lani Kona Road, on Tuesday, March 1 through Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

3) HŌNAUNAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 87 and 89, ‘Ohana Road and Papalani Road, on Saturday, Feb. 26 through Monday, Feb. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March 4, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

2) HONOMU (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph. See https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/weight-limit-for-kolekole-bridge-now-12-tons/ for details.

3) PAPA‘ALOA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 21 and 22, Huli’ili’i Stream and Weloka Stream, on Saturday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

— PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Hawai‘i Belt Road and Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road, on Monday, Feb. 28 through Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for installation of new traffic signal indicators.

2) PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Monday, Feb. 28 through Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) KAMUELA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 2 and 4, near Saddle Road, on Saturday, Feb. 26 through Monday, Feb. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

2) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3 and 7, near Saddle Road, on Tuesday, March 1 through Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work.

3) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Monday, Feb. 28 through Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.

— SADDLE ROAD (ROUTE 200) —

1) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Saddle Road (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile markers 28 and 29, Menehune Road and Army Airbase Road, on Tuesday, March 1 through Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for mulching and tree trimming work.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 14, Kohala Mountain Road and Pu‘uhue Road, on Saturday, Feb. 26 through Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.
