Weekly Lane Closures: Feb. 19-25

The state Department of Transportation announced its weekly road and land closures for the week of Feb. 19-25. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.

There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Monday, Feb. 21 in observance of Presidents Day, unless permitted. Highway 130 special use lanes will not be operational.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) KEAUHOU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 117 and 119, Walua Road and Hawaii Belt Road, on Saturday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching, tree trimming and mowing.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 19 and 21, 1st Road and Omeka Road, on Saturday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching, tree trimming and mowing work.

2) HONAUNAŪ

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 87 and 89, Ohana Road and Papalani Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 22 through Friday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 89 and 90, Papalani Road and Hawai‘i Belt Road, on Saturday, Feb. 19 through Monday, Feb. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

— HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 25, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

2) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph. See https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/weight-limit-for-kolekole-bridge-now-12-tons/ for details.

3) NINOLE (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 19 and 20, Hanamalo Lane and Hawai‘i Belt Road, on Saturday, Feb. 19 through Monday, Feb. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

4) PAPA‘ALOA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 21 and 22, Huli’ili’i Stream and Weloka Stream, on Tuesday, Feb. 22 through Friday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

— PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 22 through Friday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) KAMUELA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 2 and 3, near Saddle Road, on Saturday, Feb. 19 through Monday, Feb. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

2) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 2 and 4, near Saddle Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 22 through Friday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

3) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, near Saddle Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 22 through Friday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, rumble strip installation and other safety improvements.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

1) KAMUELA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 7 and 10, near Kohala Ranch Road, on Saturday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for landscaping and shoulder work.

2) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 14, Kohala Mountain Road and Pu‘uhue Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 22 through Friday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for landscaping and shoulder work.
