State Reports 532 New COVID Cases Sunday

The state Department of Health reported 532 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 231,510. Four new fatalities were reported.

A total of 64 new infections were identified Sunday on the Big Island. According to Hawai’i County Civil Defense, the DOH reported 1,730 active cases and 25 people hospitalized on the Big Island.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

  • O‘ahu: 161,015
  • Hawaiʻi: 25,098
  • Maui: 27,380
  • Kaua‘i: 11,011
  • Moloka‘i: 919
  • Lana‘i: 604
  • Pending: 0
  • Out-of-State: 5,483

A total of 7,964 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,262 have died.
