The state Department of Transportation announced the following lane closures for the week of Feb. 5-11. Lane-closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) KEAUHOU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 117 and 118, Walua Road and Sunset Drive, on Saturday, Feb. 5 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and mowing work.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 18 and 19, Volcano Road and Lehuanani Street, on Saturday, Feb. 5 through Monday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and mowing work.

2) MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 19 and 20, 1st Road and Volcano Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching, tree trimming and mowing work.

3) HONAUNAŪ

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 90 and 92, Papalani Road and ‘Ohia Malu Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 92 and 94, ‘Ohia Malu Road and Ahe Kolo Place, on Saturday, Feb. 5 through Monday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) PAPAIKOU

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 6.7, Kopilimai Road and Kapue Bridge, on Monday, Feb. 7 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for utility work.

2) HAKALAU

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 13 and 15, Pua Street and Old Māmalahoa Highway, on Tuesday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

3) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, Feb. 5 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

4) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph. See https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/weight-limit-for-kolekole-bridge-now-12-tons/ for details.

5) NĪNOLE TO PAPA‘ALOA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 19 and 23, Hanamalo Lane and Hawai‘i Belt Road, on Saturday, Feb. 5 through Monday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and mowing work.

6) PAPA‘ALOA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 21 and 22.5, Hawai‘i Belt Road and Koi Loop, on Tuesday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

— PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Monday, Feb. 7 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement improvements.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) KAMUELA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 1 and 4, near Saddle Road, on Saturday, Feb. 5 through Monday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

2) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 2 and 4, near Saddle Road, on Tuesday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

3) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, near Saddle Road, on Monday, Feb. 7 through Friday, Feb. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, rumble strip installation and other safety improvements.
