Police Seek Public’s Help With Finding Missing Woman

Big Island police are asking for the public’s assistance with locating a woman who was reported missing.

Police say 72-year-old Linda M. Barat was last seen about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the Puainako Street/Railroad Avenue junction in Hilo.

Barat is described as Caucasian; 5 feet, 3 inches tall; from 95-100 pounds; with light-brown/gray shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink and white shirt, pink-colored leggings with the name “bebe” on the side, and light gray shoes.

She might be in possession of a shopping cart and/or a blue-colored bag.

She also has a pre-existing injury to her left palm and her right knee.

Anyone who might have information about Barat’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police department’s nonemergency line at 808-935-3311.
