No injuries were reported following a fire this weekend at a home in Holualoa.

According to a Hawai‘i Fire Department press release, fire units responded to a 7:37 a.m. alarm Saturday, Jan. 22, at a single-story, single-family residence on One Road in Holualoa. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered heavy smoke coming from the eaves on three sides of the house.

Two occupants were assisted out of the house as they were trying to extinguish the blaze with a garden hose. Firefighters were able to account for all of the home’s residents.

Fire crews attacked the fire and were able to keep it contained to one room. Fans also were used to ventilate the home.
