Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation announced weekly road closures for Jan. 22-28. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) —

HILO (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 2 and 4, W Puainako Street and Lama Street, on Saturday, Jan. 22 through Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

KEAUHOU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 116 and 117, Walua Road and Kahoolele Street, on Saturday, Jan. 22 through Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming, mulching, and mowing work.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

VOLCANO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 27 and 38, Haunani Road and Hawaiʻi Belt Road, on Saturday, Jan. 22 through Sunday, Jan. 23, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for removal and installation of directional and informational signs.

KAʻŪ (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 52 and 56, Maile Street and Ninole Loop Road, on Saturday, Jan. 22 through Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

— HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

PAPAIKOU

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 6.7, Kopilimai Road and Kapue Bridge, on Monday, Jan. 24 through Friday, Jan. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for utility work.

HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 12 to 15, Old Māmalahoa Highway and Chin Chuck Road, on Saturday, Jan. 22 through Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, Jan. 22 through Friday, Jan. 28, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

— KALANIANAOLE STREET (ROUTE 19) —

HILO

Single lane closure on Kalanianaole Street (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 0.0 and 0.8, Kuhio Street and Banyan Drive, on Monday, Jan. 24 through Friday, Jan. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for paving work.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3 and 6, near Saddle Road, on Saturday, Jan. 22 through Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, near Saddle Road, on Monday, Jan. 24 through Friday, Jan. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, rumble strip installation and other safety improvements.

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 6, Lele Naia Drive and Kohala Ranch Road, on Saturday, Jan. 22 through Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for landscaping and shoulder work.

HALAWA

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile markers 22.4 and 23.2, Halaula Maulili Road and Niu Lane, on Monday, Jan. 24 through Friday, Jan. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.
