A 34-year-old Florida man was sentenced to five years in prison for sending inappropriate images to his victims, including minors, via social media messaging.

Jesse Anthony Coley was extradited back to Hawai‘i from Florida for his Jan. 12 sentencing for aggravated harassment by stalking and two charges of using a computer in the commission of a separate crime. He was also sentenced to a five-year term for an unrelated probation case.

In December, according to County of Hawai‘i Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen’s office, Coley originally entered pleas to the charges back on March 1, 2018, and later failed to appear for his Sept. 17, 2018 sentencing hearing. Coley was later located in Florida, where he was about to complete serving a prison term for an unrelated criminal charge. Prosecutors then arranged his extradition back to Hawai‘i Island.
