U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz said in a press release Thursday, Jan. 13 that he has COVID-19. The Hawai‘i Democrat said he’s asymptomatic and expects to be back at work in the near future.

“Earlier this week, I tested positive with a breakthrough case of COVID-19,” Schatz said in the news release. “Thankfully, I am fully vaccinated, boosted, and asymptomatic. I have been following CDC guidelines and isolating at home. I am in consultation with the Office of the Attending Physician, and expect to be back soon.”
