The National Weather Service in Honolulu canceled the high surf advisory and issued a high surf warning for west-facing shores of Hawaiʻi Island through this Tuesday.
Kahaluʻu Beach Park, Laʻaloa Beach Park and Mahukona Beach Park are closed due to dangerous conditions. Additional beaches may be closed without notice.
Large breaking surf, significant shorebreak, and dangerous currents make entering the water very hazardous. Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
