Flooding Forces Closure to Portion of Māmalahoa Highway in S. Kohala

Hawaiʻi closed Māmalahoa Highway from the 11 pile marker on Waikoloa Road to Ala Ohia Road near the Parker Ranch rodeo grounds, due to flooding.

Māmalahoa Highway, also known as Route 190 has experienced flooding, ponding and erosion from mile marker 7 to mile marker 3, according to Hawaiʻi Police Department It is unknown how long this closure will last.

HPD advises detouring around.

More information on this road closure will be provided as it becomes available.
