Earthquake Rattles Kīlauea’s Southwest Rift Zone

UPDATE: 3:47 p.m.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported Monday afternoon that the earthquake which occurred at approximately 2:13 p.m. in the vicinity the Southwest Rift Zone of Kīlauea volcano registered a magnitude of 4.1.
The US Geological Survey, or USGS, reported it as a 3.9 magnitude earlier in the day.
No tsunami threats were triggered after the quake rumbled approximately five miles east of Pāhala. However, USGS stated some areas may have experienced shaking.
Aftershocks are always possible as well, PTWC reported.
