Weekly Road Closures: Dec.25-Jan.1

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced the weekly road closures for the week of Dec. 25 through Jan. 1. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Friday, Dec. 24 or Friday, Dec. 31 in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day, unless permitted. Highway 130 special use lanes will not be operational.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) KEAUHOU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between Walua Road and Pu‘uloa Road, on Sunday, Dec. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and landscaping work.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 6 and 10, Liilii Street and Volcano Road, on Sunday, Dec. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

2) MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 16 and 17, N. Peck Road and Volcano Road, on Sunday, Dec. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

3) NĀ‘ĀLEHU

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 66 and 68, near 68 Mile Road, on Tuesday, Dec. 28 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

4) HŌNAUNAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 94 and 95, Ahe Kolo Place and Kukui O Pae Place, on Sunday, Dec. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) PEPE‘EKEO TO HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between Old Māmalahoa Highway and Leopolino Road on Sunday, Dec. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mowing and landscaping work.

2) HAKALAU TO NĪNOLE

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between Old Māmalahoa Highway and Hanamalo Lane, on Tuesday, Dec. 28 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mowing and landscaping work.

3) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between Mauna Loa Drive and Mauna Kea Drive, on Tuesday, Dec. 28 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and mulching work.

5) PĀPA‘ALOA TO ‘Õ‘ŌKALA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 21 and 22, on Tuesday, Dec. 28 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

6) PĀPA‘ALOA TO‘Õ‘ŌKALA OOKALA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 21 and 27, Pohakupuka Stream and Jardine Road, on Sunday, Dec. 26 through Thursday, Dec. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder stabilization, tree trimming and landscape work.
