The National Weather Service in Honolulu canceled the flood watch and advisory for the Big Island as heavy showers have now diminished.

Rainy weather will continue with the trade wind showers, and advisories will be posted as needed. The high surf advisory for east-facing shores of Hawaiʻi Island remains in effect through Thursday, Dec. 23.

There are no roadway closures at this time, however, Malua Gulch near mile 21 on Highway 19 has one lane closed due to a landslide. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.
