Big Island Road Closures: Dec. 18-24

The following list is for lane closures on Hawai‘i Island the week of Dec. 18-24. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Friday, Dec. 24, in observance of Christmas Day, unless permitted. Highway 130 special use lanes will not be operational.

— KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) KEAUHOU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between Walua Road and Pu‘uloa Road, on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Thursday, Dec. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and mowing.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 6 and 10, Liilii Street and Volcano Road, on Tuesday, Dec. 21 through Thursday, Dec. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

2) MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 15 and 16, Kopua Road and N. Peck Road, on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Monday, Dec. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

3) MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 16 and 17, N Peck Road and Volcano Road, on Tuesday, Dec. 21 through Thursday, Dec. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

4) HŌNAUNAU

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 94 and 95, Ahe Kolo Place and Kukui O‘ Pae Place, on Tuesday, Dec. 21 through Thursday, Dec. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

5) HÕNAUNAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 95 and 96, Kukui O‘ Pae Place and Kaohe Road, on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Monday, Dec. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) PEPE‘EKEO TO HAKALAU

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between Old Māmalahoa Highway and Leopolino Road on Tuesday, Dec. 21 through Thursday, Dec. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mowing and landscaping work.

2) PEPE‘EKEO TO HONOMŪ (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between Old Māmalahoa Highway/Airstrip Road and Honomū Road on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Monday, Dec. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mowing/shoulder work.

3) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)

4) MAULUA TO PĀPA‘ALOA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between Kaihuiki Road and Papa‘a Loa Avenue on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Monday, Dec. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mowing/grass cutting.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) PĀHOA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between Ka Ohuwalu Drive and Kahakai Boulevard, on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Monday, Dec. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for mowing/grass cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between Waikoloa Road and Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Saddle Road), on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Thursday, Dec. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work/landscaping.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —
