Puna Man Faces Charges in Connection to Stolen Vehicle from Beach Park

A Puna man is facing theft charges after being allegedly stealing a Toyota Prius from Kehena Beach Park on Dec. 2.

Twenty-five-year-old Sateki Nisa faces charges of second-degree theft and first-degree unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle in connection to the incident. He is scheduled to for an initial appearance in Hilo District Court today, Dec. 9.

Nisa remains in custody in lieu of $20,000 bail.

At the time of the alleged offenses, Nisa was pending revocation of an unrelated probation matter, two outstanding District Court nonappearance offenses, and a traffic matter, according to court records.
