Due to weather conditions, all county beach parks will remain closed Monday, December 6.

The Driver’s License Station in Hilo will be closed through 11 am.

The Hawai´i Department of Education also closed Mountain View Elementary School early this morning. All schools on Maui were called off for the day due to inclement weather, which is impacting the entire state.

Severe weather that has impacted the Big Island throughout the weekend is expected to persist through Monday and into Tuesday. A flood advisory for much of the southern portion of Hawai´i County has been extended from 9:45 am to 12:45 pm, and could be extended again. Thunderstorms also impacted portions of the Big Island Monday morning.
