HFD Rescues 2 Swimmers in Distress Sunday

Hawai´i County rescue personnel saved two swimmers in distress in the Hawaiian Paradise Park District on Sunday, Nov. 21.
The Hawai´i Fire Department responded to a call a little after 4:15 pm of two people in the water approximately 60 yards offshore who appeared to be in danger.
First responders were able to make contact with the two individuals and bring them safely to shore. No information was provided on the victims, or the specific circumstances that led to their distress, other than to say that one was transported to Hilo Medical Center for further care.
No injuries or fatalities were listed as part of the department’s official report.
