A Keaukaha man was granted supervised release during his initial appearance in Hilo District Court on charges related to possession of methamphetamine and heroin incidents.

Thirty-four-year-old Spencer John Feary appeared virtually on Monday, Nov. 15. He is facing charges of first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, first-degree attempted unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, reckless driving and no car insurance.

Charges stem from an auto break-in on Oct. 30 and drug possession on Nov. 11. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 29.

According to court records, Feary was out on bail pending felony charges in an unrelated September 2020 case at the time of his arrest.
