The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 163 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 83,351. Three new COVID-related fatalities were also reported.

A total of 40 new infections were identified on the Big Island Sunday.

The state’s seven-day average is now 124 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 2.1%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 57,470
Hawai‘i: 10,886
Maui: 9,450
Kaua‘i: 2,629
Moloka‘i: 239
Lana‘i: 142
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,629

A total of 4,648 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 888 have died.
