Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures on the Big Island for the week of Oct. 23-29. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) —

HILO (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 6, Lama Street and Kipimana Street, on Saturday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 62 and 63, vicinity of Nāʻālehu Driver License Station, on Tuesday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

NĀʻĀLEHU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 63 and 65, vicinity of Nāʻālehu Park and Haʻao Springs Road, on Saturday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 3 and 4, Halaulani Place and Wainaku Street, on Saturday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and mulching.

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between the mile markers 7 and 9, Kaʻapoko Homestead Road and Old Onomea Road, on Tuesday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and tree trimming work.

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between the mile markers 23 and 25, Koi Loop and Puʻualaea Homestead Road, on Tuesday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between the mile markers 97 and 99.4, Palani Road and Honokohau Street, on Saturday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for drainage work.

Single lane closure on Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 96 and 97.5, Ala Nui Kaloko and Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway, Tuesday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for drainage work.

— KEAʻAU-PĀHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

Single lane closure on Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) in both directions between mile markers 0 and 2, Hawaiʻi Belt Road and Opukahala Street, Tuesday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

KEAʻAU

Single lane closure on Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) in the eastbound direction between mile markers 0 and 2.1, Hawaiʻi Belt Road and Opukahala Street, Tuesday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 29, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., for paving work.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 1 and 3.9, Lalamilo Farm Road and Kamakoa Gulch, on Tuesday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 29, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving work.

WAIKOLOA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 6.5 and 7.5, near Saddle Road, on Saturday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder improvements.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

KOHALA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) in both directions between mile markers 7 and 19, Banana Ranch Road and Kohala Mountain Road, on Saturday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance.

— AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

KOHALA

Two-lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) in both directions between mile markers 4.5 and 5.5, Ala Kahua Road and Kohala Ranch Road, on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for construction blasting in private community.

KAPAʻAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile markers 25 and 27, Makapala Road and Kohala Forest Reserve, on Saturday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Oct. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for shoulder work and debris removal.
