Big Island authorities are asking for public assistance to help locate a missing person.

Hawai‘i Island police are searching for Kealii Kaniho, 15, who has been reported as a runaway.

Kaniho was last seen in the 1700 block of Kino‘ole Street in Hilo on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, wearing a gray t-shirt, gray shorts, and slippers. He is described as having a tan complexion, standing at 5-feet, 7-inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. 

Kaniho is known to frequent the Puna and South Kohala areas.

Police ask anyone who may have information on Kaniho’s whereabouts to contact Officer Corey Kaneko of the Area I Juvenile Aid Section at (808) 961-8843 or via email at corey.kaneko@hawaiicounty.gov. They may also contact the police non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.
