Military units based on Oʻahu continue to conduct training activities at Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA), which will result in military convoys on Big Island roadways over the next several days.
Planned convoys from PTA to Kawaihae are as follows:
|Oct. 16||PTA to Kawaihae||8 a.m. to 2 p.m.|
|Oct. 17||PTA to Kawaihae||8 a.m. to 2 p.m.|
|Oct. 18||PTA to Kawaihae||8 a.m. to 2 p.m.|
|Oct. 19||PTA to Kawaihae||8 a.m. to 2 p.m.|
|Oct. 20||PTA to Kawaihae||8 a.m. to 2 p.m.|
|Oct. 21||PTA to Kawaihae||8 a.m. to 2 p.m.|
“The military appreciates the understanding and continued support of the local community,” the US Army wrote in a statement. “While the convoys can create delays among motorists due to the reduced speed, it is critical all our troops return home safely.”
