Newly Reported COVID Cases Continues to Trend Downward Statewide

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 164 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 81,954. Six new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

A total of 46 new infections were identified on the Big Island Thursday. The state’s seven-day average is now 136 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 2.6%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

A total of 4,552 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 857 have died.
