Staffing shortages at the Honokohau Small Boat Harbor office are forcing DLNR’s Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation to temporarily shift the types of transactions being handled.
DOBOR Administrator Ed Underwood said the staffing shortage has only recently become an issue and DLNR is currently working to recruit new people to work in the office.
Starting Oct. 18, 2021, harbor-related transactions (mooring permits, commercial use permits, etc.) will only be provided on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Vessel Registration and Titling transactions will only be provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
For more information, call the Honokohau SBH office at 808-327-3685.
