Traffic Collision to Close Big Island Road For Several Hours

UPDATE: AS OF 10 PM FRIDAY, SEPT. 24, THE ROAD HAS REOPENED.

Ka´alaiki Road, also known as Old Cane Haul Road, has been closed between the NOAA Weather Station and Na´alehu Cemetery in Ka´ū.

HPD reports that the road will be closed for the next several hours due a traffic collision. 

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
