Big Island Hospitalizations Decreasing Slowly

Hawaii County on Monday, September 13 reported 82 new cases of COVID-19 island-wide, with 1,376 active cases and 51 persons hospitalized.

The island-wide averages over the previous two weeks are 88 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 7.3%. A total of 62% of the county’s population are considered fully vaccinated by state Department of Health (DOH) standards.

Virus testing is scheduled for today at Waimea District Park from 2 pm to 4 pm.

A community vaccination and testing clinic is also scheduled for today in Hilo at the Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium from 11 am to 4 pm.
