Big Island Weekly Lane Closures: Sept. 11-17

Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation announced weekly road and lane closures for Sept. 11-17. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

VOLCANO

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 28 and 32, Crater Rim Drive and Māmalahoa Highway, on Monday, Sept. 13 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road striping work.

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 113 and 116, Māmalahoa Highway and Walua Road, on Saturday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

— KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) —

HILO

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 0.0 and 8, Kamehameha Avenue and Keanu 9.5 mile cp, on Tuesday, Sept. 14 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

HILO (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 6 and 8, Macadamia Drive and Keanu 9.5 mile cp, on Saturday, Sept. 11 through Monday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

HILO (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 3 and 7, Old Māmalahoa Highway and Halaulani Place, on Saturday, Sept.11 through Monday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 8 and 14, Kolekole Beach Park and Hanawi Street, on Tuesday, Sept.14 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping work.

HILO

Hawaiʻi County has created a detour on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) at mile marker 11.2 for the closure of the Makea Stream Bridge. Motorists should exercise caution and obey signage in the work area.

HĀMĀKUA

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 35.7 and 39.8, Chopper Boulevard and Paʻauilo Hui Road, on Monday, Sept. 13 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for roadway paving.

HĀMĀKUA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 45 and 48, Mauka Cane Haul Road and Hawaiʻi Belt Road, on Saturday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

— KEAʻAU-PĀHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

KEAʻAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY/NIGHT/DAY WORK)

Single lane closure on Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) in both directions between mile markers 0.0 and 2.1, Hawaiʻi Belt Road and Opukahaia Street, on Friday evening, Sept. 10 through Saturday morning, Sept. 11, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Monday, Sept. 13 through Friday, Sept. 17, in the westbound direction, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving work.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

WAIKOLOA

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) in both directions between mile markers 1 and 3.9, Lalamilo Farm Road and Māmalahoa Highway, on Monday, Sept. 13 through Friday, Sept. 17, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving work.

WAIKOLOA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) in both directions between mile markers 6 and 8, near Saddle Road, on Saturday, Sept. 11 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) in both directions between mile markers 18 and 19, Banana Ranch Road and Red Cinder Road, on Saturday, Sept. 11 through Monday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance.

— AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

KOHALA

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) in both directions between mile markers 19 and 27, Ilina Road and Akoni Pule Highway, on Tuesday, Sept. 14 through Friday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.
