A three-story home in Kailua-Kona was destroyed in a fire early Saturday morning.

Hawaiʻi Fire Department responded to the blaze, located at Kahaluʻu Farm Lots on Walua Road, at approximately 2:12 a.m. When crews arrived on scene, they found the home 80-90% engulfed in flames.

Occupants in the house were evacuated and taken to the Keauhou Harbor.

Three fire companies and one battalion chief worked to stamp out the flames as the building had a high potential of collapse. The fire was extinguished at approximately 4 a.m. resulting in about $765,000 in damage.
